The Power of Your Self-Image

As of right now, what images of yourself do you hold inside your head? Do you see yourself as a success or a failure, as average or extraordinary, as rich or poor, as fat or in shape?

Your self-image is the person you see in your minds eye. When someone confronts you with a task, your self-image is what determines whether or not you believe you can perform that task adequately.

For example, say one of your goals is to lose weight – but it’s just not happening. You see a person on TV that’s as fit as you can be. “Yea right, I’ll never look like that, they probably just have amazing genes” or “I don’t have the time to exercise as much as they probably do” might be what you’d say to yourself.

By internally saying things like this, you are literally programming yourself for failure. You are telling your body that you can’t do a certain thing, and since your body is just like a command center, it obeys. This is why 90% of people who win the lottery end up becoming poor after a year or so. They have a self-image of themselves being average, poor people – so their body listens to them and they make bad choices in order to get back to being what they see themselves as.

Some people have a self-image that powerfully dictates the things they accomplish in life, such as world class athletes and millionaires, but unfortunately that same self-image destroys the lives of the majority of us.

You can think of your self-image as the mini devil and mini angel that sit on your shoulders – the 2 sides of your conscience so to speak. On one hand you have the devil, telling you to do all the “evil things” and on the other side is the angel, which directs you to do things that are purely good.

The only difference is that your self-image is one thing instead of 2. Each time you think a thought, you’re either making it a more positive self-image or a more negative one. Unfortunately most people think negative, self defeating thoughts all day long. Unless you’ve heard of this concept before and have practiced turning yourself into positive ones, chances are you’re thinking negative thoughts all day long too.

So How Do You Develop A Positive Self-Image?

By understanding that energy has a power of its own and that it can actually lead you into things you can visualize in your mind, you will be much better prepared to achieve the goals you want to achieve.

Here are a few steps you can try to enhance your self-image. It will be uncomfortable in the beginning and you’ll feel as if you’re actually lying to yourself, but give it time and it will become second nature. Instead of thinking self-defeating thoughts, you’ll be empowering yourself all day long.

1) Visualize - Visualizing something in your mind is probably the most powerful thing you can do to achieve a more positive self-image. Picture yourself as fit, successful, loving, stress-free, and peaceful. Your mind literally can’t tell the difference between reality and the images you hold in your head. There was a study in which sprinters were hooked up to machines which measured neuron firing and then did sprints. Later they did the same thing, except they only did the sprints in their minds (they visualized it). The amazing thing was, the exact same neurons fired as when they were sprinting for real! This same concept applies to energy your body creates when you visualize yourself becoming successful.

2) Become Aware Of Your Thoughts – If you can become aware of the thoughts you carry in your head and learn how to “catch” a negative thought and turn it into a positive one, you have a much greater chance of succeeding in life. You can practice this by simply paying attention to what you’re thinking throughout the day. The goal of this blog is to challenge people to experience the perfect life – one of health, wealth, and happiness. Therefore you must first think health, wealth, and happiness thoughts and make them the most frequent thought in your mind. Once again, after awhile this will become a habit but in the beginning it’s a little uncomfortable.

3) Take Action – When you’ve begun to understand the underlying principles of the first 2 steps, you must then take action. If you’ve been visualizing yourself losing that 30 pounds that won’t seem to come off and catching your negative thoughts and reaffirming to yourself that you can in fact lose the weight, you need to take action. Visualizing yourself losing weight and positive thinking is a vital step and will dramatically increase your results, but it can’t do anything unless you eat better and exercise more.

Don’t be like the majority of people in the world today. Take 5 or 10 minutes everyday to visualize yourself achieving your goals. There is energy in this world that we are just now beginning to notice, but they are still a mystery to us.

Most people are afraid to believe in something they’ve never experienced or seen. The best thing you can do is begin to become aware of what happens as you implement visualization and a strengthening of your self-image into your life. Notice that your cravings dramatically subside, you seem to get “lucky” more often, and positive coincidences seem to occur much more frequently.

Your perfect life awaits,

The Top 5 Ways To Appreciate Life More

Everybody goes through a period of time in their life in which they think they’re worthless, their life is horrible, and nothing will ever go their way. For some people they might experience this for days or weeks, others for just a few moments.

The majority of people really don’t think about exactly how lucky they are to be alive. We wonder through life with a thick cloud of fog covering our eyes, going through the motions of life day in and day out.

On your quest for finding the perfect life, happiness should be one of your top priorities. Learning to appreciate life is a very big aspect of that. You can be a happy person but until you take the time to appreciate the life you have, you will never reach your highest potential of happiness.

There are many ways in realizing that you have a great life, but below I will outline what I think are the 5 easiest and simplest ways of realizing this important truth.

The Top 5 Ways To Appreciate Your Life More

  1. Things can always get better – You may be having a rough time in your life right now, but you need to sit down and think about the fact that you’ve had many other amazing times in your life. Whether you’re poor, unhealthy, just lost a job, or lost your spirituality and connection with God, things can always get better. The goal of this website is just that – improving your life to the point where it’s your dream life. No matter where your life stands – there is always a way to make it much better.
  2. Get a pet – In my opinion, pets are one of the best forms of healing therapy available. Have you ever noticed that when you’re upset or sick, your pet seems to notice and acts more loving towards you? Having a pet can get you through some very rough times because no matter what, they’re always there for you. Dogs are called “a mans best friend” for a reason. Having a pet is like having a permanent emotional support system on call. By having a pet you can appreciate the fact that you have support no matter what you did or what happened to you.
  3. Watch or play with a baby – When you look at a baby, especially one that’s laughing or smiling, you can’t help but feel happy. There’s something about the innocence of a baby that sends a vibrant positive energy throughout the entire room. If you learn a little about the process of having a baby, you will be amazed at what a miracle it is to have a baby, and yet it’s done so frequently.
  4. Look at the stars – If you really feel that you don’t appreciate your life and need to get a deeper understanding of it, just go into the country somewhere and gaze at the stars. When you look up and see the thousands of twinkling stars, you begin to ponder philosophical questions about your life, how amazing it is that the stars can be billions and trillions of light years away and yet you can see them, and what kind of magnificent energy it takes to create something like the universe we live in. Make it a priority to get into the country and do some star gazing every once in awhile. If you’re lucky like me and live in the country already, do it every time you’re outside at night. It will put you in a blissful state.
  5. Watch a bug – If all else fails, just watch a bug for a minute or 2. Yes that’s right, I want you to go outside and watch a bug for a minute. This may sound ridiculously strange, but think about it. If you need to do this you’re probably in a state where you don’t fully appreciate the life you have. Well, would you like to be the tiny little bug you’re staring at? They don’t experience the joy you can experience, they don’t experience a sense of accomplishment, love, well-being, or the ability to directly enhance their lives. They live for one thing – to make children. Even if that doesn’t show you how great of a life you have, you’ll probably start laughing when you realize that you’re staring at a bug in the ground.

In the next few days, make sure you spend a few minutes out of your day to realize how great your life really is. By utilizing my top 5 ways of appreciating your life better, you will be a much happier person and appreciate your life in so many more ways.

Your perfect life awaits,

Refuse To Be Average

All of our lives, we’ve been told that the best thing to do is be average. Who ever made up such a boring concept? Why would anybody want to do the exact same thing everybody else is doing? You get one life and you should make it count.

If everybody in the world adhered to these ideas, it would not be such a magnificent place to live. There would be no technology because we would still be living in a stone age type world. Each day would be exactly the same, and we probably wouldn’t even be on the top of the food chain.

In order to achieve success in your own personal life, you need to leave the idea of “average” behind you. You need to step up to the plate and step into a ball or 2 and take one for the team. This world thrives on those who are extraordinary and are willing to perhaps take a risk in order to increase the quality of their live and everyone’s life around them.

How often do you see an ordinary person who’s living the life of their dreams? Never. Do you know why? It’s because in order to get to that point, you need to become extraordinary. Look what happens when an average person wins a jackpot lottery. History has shown that almost every single person who ever won the lottery has had a “streak of bad luck”.

Well guess what, that’s not bad luck. It’s simply the fact that they haven’t expanded their minds to the point where they believe they are somebody special. They can’t handle the money because it doesn’t correlate with the mental image they have of themselves. Greed, ignorance, and self-indulgence set it in and they soon experience robberies, tragic events, and bankruptcy.

If someone that was already above average won the jackpot, I can guarantee you that the money would not be wasted and there wouldn’t be a streak of bad luck.

I absolutely refuse to be average and will do everything in my power to be as extraordinary as I can. I strive to be an extraordinary student, blogger and website owner, boyfriend, and many other things. I want to be above and beyond “average” in every single area of my life, and I work towards that goal everyday.

In my life, there is no “what if”. It’s simply, this is how it’s going to be and I will not stop until I hit my goal. I realized at a young age that I will only get this 1 life, so I better make it count. While my friends are out partying and drinking several nights a week, at least 90% of my spare time revolves around doing activities that will ultimately create a better life for myself and my future family.

Whenever I get off target, I simply remind myself that I’m not an average person, and will never let myself become average in any aspect of my life. Our society raises us to think that growing up and living the average life is the way to go. Well, that might be a great life for some people but that’s way too boring for me.

I want to experience pure bliss, abundance, a body that will keep me going for over 100 years, and such happiness from the work I do that it’s almost unimaginable to think about. Those types of things will never happen if I just go through the motions of life, get a steady job that I don’t care about, and don’t do anything extra.

What is your current outlook on life? Do you think of yourself as an average person? If you really want to create the perfect life for yourself, you need to start going above and beyond what a normal person would do. The first thing you should do is change your attitude and start thinking of yourself as a very rare person who’s about to become a success story.

Your perfect life awaits you,

Jeremy
