Eat More Food, Burn More Fat

You must think I’m crazy. After all, all the “health experts” tell you that if you want to lose weight you should eat less.

Well, don’t always trust what you read. I’m not sure exactly who came up with the “3 meal per day thing”, but they mustn’t have known much about the human body.

Simply put, if you want to lose weight you need to eat more. This isn’t to say that you should eat whenever and however you want. What I’m saying is that you should be eating about every 2.5-3 hours, which comes out to a total of 6 meals per day.

However, the meal size must be smaller than you’re currently used to. Instead of each meal consisting of 700-800 calories, which is about the average, they should be about 300 calories for a female and 350-400 for a male.

Of course, each person is different and may need to increase or decrease their calories depending on their metabolic rate.

I’m sure you’ve heard the metaphor of throwing small sticks on a fire instead of 1 huge log. Well, although it’s well-known, not many people actually believe or use it! Sadly for them they probably aren’t even close to the best shape they could be in if they stuck to 5-6 meals per day.

In a future post I’ll explain what each meal should consist of and why eating in this way has a profound affect on your metabolism, digestive system, energy, and many other things.

For now, just make a plan to eat at least 1 extra meal per day, but work on reducing the size of your meals so that you’re still taking in less calories than you need.

It’s good to be non-traditional and go against the crowd. Over 66% of Americans are 30 pounds or more overweight at the moment. Obviously the breakfast, lunch, and dinner idea isn’t working!

Eat frequently and watch your metabolism soar,

Jeremy

My Problem With Dieting

America is obsessed with “the perfect diet”. Unfortunately, that’s exactly why so many Americans are obese and have all kinds of health and energy problems.

The word “diet” simply isn’t a good word to use in my mind. People are focused too much on losing fat, which ultimately makes them sometimes gain even more fat!

Your focus should be on getting healthier, building muscle, and getting a better body fat percentage. Your goal should not be to diet.

When you hear the word diet, you think of a fat person trying to get down to a certain weight. Sometimes it works, but what happens next?

The word diet is a temporary thing. You can’t be on a diet your entire life. What you need to do is change your process of thinking.

Replace the word “diet” with “lifestyle”. That’s much easier isn’t it? If you choose to do something for the lifestyle, it implies that your in it for the long run.

Focus on eating healthier food and exercising regularly. The weight loss will come if you keep the right frame of mind. Keeping track of your calories is great as it will help keep you focused and probably help you lose the weight quicker, but start referring to your “diet” as a lifestyle change.

For example you can choose to stop living the American lifestyle, and instead focus on a lifestyle such as the Okinawans. They are notorious for the number of centurions (people living over 100) and it’s because of the lifestyle they live. They don’t diet, they live a lifestyle.

Stop telling people you’re on a diet and start to make a lifestyle change for yourself. Once you make this shift in thought, you’ll be much more motivated to stick with it, which in turn will lead to you achieving your fitness goals.

Stop dieting and start a lifestyle today,

Jeremy
